Serious Business

Today was amazing outside. I laid in the sun before meeting Minh and the guys and being the super-ginger i am, ended up with a sun-burn...but it was worth it. We've had a lot going on in serious business land. been spending all our weekends playing shows and recording at vault. Unfortunately Vault hasn't been as fruitful as we'd hope so we decided to invest in recording/mixing the album ourselves. A set back indeed, but in the end we'll be 100% happy. The main problem has been mixing the acoustic and programmed drums. What works live definitely doesn't work for recording. So we're going to blend the two and produce a cohesive beat instead of laying one over the other. Which I'm very pretty excited about. and thanks to Minhs suggestion i might even experiment with recording the programmed synthesizers 'live' to give them depth. While all together with Minh today we laid down the ground work for the BFF video him and Nate will be producing. Its going to be amazing, the concept is rad. We'll be shooting it in the first few weeks of June. Also, a few weeks ago we played the Sticks & Stones wrap party and were approached by Bystander Productions to do a music video with them. This is pretty exciting as they've done videos for Starfucker and Logan Lynn and have been played on MTV2 and the LOGO channel. I'm guessing we'll do Freezer Burn, but its still up in the air. Our next agenda is to work on some new material to freshen up the set, haven't had much time since we've been recording. Got some good concepts in the works. So here we are starting over. Wish us luck!
